- Description:
- The plaintiffs, members of the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes, filed a lawsuit seeking declaratory and injunctive relief to conduct a tribal referendum on a contract for the Concho School. The tribal business committee denied the petition for the referendum. The plaintiffs argued for jurisdiction based on the Indian Civil Rights Act of 1968, but the court found jurisdiction lacking and dismissed the case, allowing the plaintiffs to file an amended complaint within ten days. The court also ruled that the plaintiffs' request for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction were moot.
