- Description:
- Dave Whitekiller, a Cherokee, applied for a grant under the Indian Financing Act to establish a packing plant in Greensburg, Kansas. However, his application was denied because the business would not be on or near an Indian reservation, as required by the Act. The Bureau of Indian Affairs suggested that he contact the Small Business Administration for assistance. Senator Dewey Bartlett and Don Bluejacket were unable to help Whitekiller with his grant request.
