- Description:
- The Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes of Indians are requesting the transfer of Fort Reno to their ownership for their use and benefit. The bill has passed the House but is being held up in the Senate due to objections regarding mineral rights and the Agricultural Experiment Station. The tribes argue that the Experiment Station does not need Fort Reno and that the land would be more beneficial to them. They have a plan to use the land for a beef raising program to become self-sustaining. They are seeking support from Congressman Albert to help convince the Senators to approve the transfer.
