- Description:
- Donna Willis from Representative Olsen's office called regarding a water rights lawsuit involving Pueblo Indians in New Mexico. The groups San Felipe and Santo Domingo want Bill Veedle, an Indian water rights expert, as their co-counsel, but there is a conflict-of-interest issue preventing his participation. Miss Willis wants to contact Leonard Garment at the White House to request Veedle's involvement. Additionally, a request was made for Veedle to be appointed as special assistant attorney general for the Pueblo Indians' litigation. This case is significant for all Indian water rights and needs a decision by Monday.
