- Description:
- Samuel J. Checote wrote a letter to Carl Albert expressing concern about the possible closure of the Eufaula Indian Boarding School due to lack of funding for the fiscal year of 1950. Checote requested that Albert do everything he can to restore the appropriations and ensure the school can continue to operate, as it is the only school for Creek Indians and serves orphans and other disadvantaged children. Albert responded, assuring Checote that he will work to restore the funding and expressing his commitment to the cause.
