- Description:
- The document from Carl Albert to Osby Williams addresses the payment to Choctaws and Chickasaws for the sale of their coal lands to the government. The money has been appropriated by Congress and will be paid to living enrolled members first. The checks are expected to be mailed out in late July. Albert assures Williams that if he is on the rolls, he will receive his money. Williams had previously written to inquire about the final settlement and payment to the tribes.
