- Description:
- Mr. Goen is inquiring about the sale of coal and asphalt lands belonging to the Choctaw and Chickasaw Tribes of Indians, and whether they will receive a per capita payment. Congressman Carl Albert responds that the lands have been sold to the government for $8,500,000 and the payment is included in a bill awaiting action in Congress. He assures Mr. Goen that he will do everything he can to ensure quick distribution of the payment, as many members of the tribes are elderly and in need of the money.
