- Description:
- Public Law 89-107, enacted by the 89th Congress on August 4, 1965, amended the law relating to the final disposition of the property of the Choctaw Tribe. The Act changed the time period from "six years" to "nine years" in various sections of the previous Act of Choctaw Indians from 1959. The legislative history includes House Report No. 437 and Senate Report No. 494, with the bill passing the House on June 7 and the Senate on July 22.
