- Description:
- Mrs. Clamy Holden Brown, a Chickasaw Indian from Milburn, Oklahoma, requested information about oil drilling activities on her land. The Bureau of Indian Affairs determined that there was no need for drilling on her land as there had been no development on adjoining lands that would warrant it. The report explained in detail the reasons for this decision. Mrs. Brown was informed that until deeper productive wells were discovered in the area, further development could not be required. Congressman Carl Albert assisted Mrs. Brown in obtaining this information and offered to help further if needed.
