- Description:
- Mr. John Bully wrote a letter to Carl Albert, a congressman, regarding the sale of the Choctaw-Chickasaw coal and asphalt lands. Bully expressed the urgency of the $8,500,000 appropriation for the government's purchase of the lands, as it would greatly benefit farmers like himself. Albert assured Bully that he would do his best to push through the appropriation and mentioned that the money may not be available until June 1948. Bully requested that the funds be made available sooner, as many farmers were depending on it for their livelihoods.
