["Education Professionals for Indian Children (EPIC) was started at Northeastern in 1973 to improve educational services for Indian students. The program offers three separate programs for Indian students interested in careers in Indian education: Pre-Intern Teaching Program, Indian Intern Teacher Training Program, and Counselor-Administrator Graduate Program. The programs provide academic, seminar, and field training experiences. EPIC is sponsored by the Cherokee Tribe and NEOSU and has had 138 students complete the Intern Teaching program, with 94% finding employment in Indian education. Participants receive stipends to cover transportation expenses."]
