![["The Chief of the Osage Tribe of Oklahoma sent a letter to Senator Dewey Bartlett regarding a poll conducted on March 2, 1976. The poll showed that the majority of Osage people did not favor a change in their form of government. The Chief expressed concerns about the proposed legislation, which would create a second Council and potentially exclude those with less than 1/4 blood from participating in tribal government affairs. The Chief urged Senator Bartlett not to introduce the legislation based on the results of the poll.
