![["Senator Dewey Bartlett has introduced two bills to distribute almost $1.8 million in previously appropriated funds to the Creek Indians of Oklahoma. One bill allocates $1,346,000 to be divided between the Creek Indians of Oklahoma and others east of the Mississippi River, while the other bill provides $450,000 to the Creek Nation of Oklahoma for approved purposes. These funds are to pay Creek claims stemming from 19th Century treaties with the federal government.
