![["The Bureau of Indian Affairs is proposing a reorganization of its central office to transfer day-to-day operations to field offices, reduce nonessential staff, and improve service delivery to Native American communities. The recommended structure includes new offices and changes to existing ones based on feedback from Indian leaders. Special offices in the field will be discontinued, and staff will be reassigned to new positions. Reduction in Force regulations will be used, and efforts will be made to minimize employee separations through freezes, outplacement, and early retirement options.
