The funds are to be divided proportionally between the two tribes based on their basic membership rolls. The funds can be used for any purpose approved by the respective tribal governing bodies and the Secretary of the Interior. Any funds distributed to tribe members are not subject to federal or state income tax. Funds for minors or those under a legal disability will be managed by the Secretary of the Interior.
