They argue that the current process is impractical for their tribe as most of their funds come from mining leases and many members are old and infirm with no other source of income. ![["Senator Elmer Thomas received a report regarding the payment to the Wyandotte Indians, and instructed Allen C. Johnson to contact the Superintendent for distribution of the funds. The Assistant Commissioner of Indian Affairs confirmed that funds were authorized for distribution to members of the Wyandotte Tribe. The Act of August 7, 1935 allowed for the withdrawal of funds for the tribe, and the General Accounting Office had made a settlement for the funds to be placed to the tribe's credit. The Western Oklahoma Consolidated Agency is being established in Anadarko, with other agencies being consolidated there as well. The Muskogee agency will continue with reduced staff and will also oversee the Quapaw Agency. Reduction in services to Indians is expected, but efforts will be made to serve their interests. Schools and hospitals operated by the Indian Service will not be affected.
