Kilburn, and Albert Rains, are discussing proposed changes to the Housing Act of 1937 to allow Indian tribes in Oklahoma to participate in the low-rent housing program. The Governor of the Chickasaw Nation has recommended amendments to the act to eliminate discrimination against Oklahoma Indian Tribes. President Lyndon Johnson has also proposed expanding housing aid for low-income families as part of a campaign against poverty. The Task Force on Indian Affairs has recommended allowing Indian tribes to establish housing agencies and participate in the program. Dr. McBrayer suggested exploring the possibility of obtaining the services of a contract doctor in Hugo for emergency cases. The Indian Health Area Office in Oklahoma City also proposed increasing health services at Antlers and extending them to residents of surrounding areas.
